3M Reflectivity Levels
During daylight hours there is barely any discernable difference between the various types of 3M Reflective materials above. However the image above shows the vast difference between the engineer grade on the left, the high intensity prismatic in the middle and the diamond grade prismatic on the right. The difference is dramatic. The most common choice for public roads and dangerous intersections is clear. 3M Diamond Grade is the winner here.

Cheap Street Signs uses only .080″ rustproof aluminum. Don’t settle for low quality signs which will fade quickly and deteriorate after a short time. Our premium quality commercial grade signs are designed to last. Most road signs are available in three reflectivity levels. Engineer grade, high intensity prismatic or diamond grade prismatic. For most applications, choose high intensity reflective to meet State DOT and Federal MUTCD guidelines.
Most road signs come with standard mounting holes centered top and bottom. Larger signs come standard with four mounting holes. Visit our Hardware and Posts section for installation hardware. Please refer to the MUTCD for information on proper installation of road signs.
